ACLU’s Push To Block Deportations Won’t Stop Trump’s Plans, Says Homan

Tom Homan, incoming border czar under President-elect Donald Trump, made it clear Friday that legal roadblocks set up by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) won’t halt the administration’s immigration enforcement agenda.

Homan addressed the ACLU’s recent lawsuit targeting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), filed to demand details on Trump’s plans to execute large-scale deportations. “They’re not going to stop us,” Homan said during an appearance on Fox News, stressing that public safety is the top priority.

The ACLU’s efforts are part of a broader strategy to hinder Trump’s immigration policies, including coordination with sanctuary city officials who have pledged to resist ICE operations. Homan criticized these policies, stating they endanger both communities and law enforcement officers.

“We want to remove public safety threats, and no one should oppose that,” Homan said. He added that arrests conducted in controlled environments like jails are safer for everyone involved.

Trump has tapped South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem to lead the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), a nomination Homan believes will strengthen the administration’s ability to carry out its agenda. “With President Trump, Kristi Noem and myself, we’ll ensure these policies are implemented,” Homan said.

Despite resistance from the ACLU and liberal officials, Homan affirmed his commitment to Trump’s vision. “They can try to make it harder, but they won’t prevent us from enforcing the law,” he said.
