During his State of the Union address, President Joe Biden openly threatened the U.S. Supreme Court over its decision to send the issue of abortion back to the states in its ruling on Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.
“In the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court majority wrote the following, and with all due respect, justices — ‘women are not without electoral or political power.’ You’re about to realize just how much you’re …” Biden said before Democrats interrupted him and cheered.

The justices in the House chamber stood emotionless following the president’s threat.
AOL noted that usually, justices won’t engage with a president during a State of the Union address.
In 2010, Associate Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito appeared to mouth “not true” or “simply not true” when then-President Barack Obama criticized the High Court’s ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission. Since then, Alito has refused to attend another State of the Union address.
Following the Supreme Court’s ruling in Dobbs, leftists across the country launched intimidation campaigns at the homes of conservative justices, forcing some of them to relocate to other areas.
In one such instance, a man was arrested for trying to assassinate Associate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh at his home in Maryland.
In June 2022, Townhall reported that a California man was arrested near Kavanaugh’s home. The perpetrator allegedly told law enforcement that he planned to kill the conservative Supreme Court justice.
“An armed California man was arrested near Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s home between 1:00 and 2:00 am Wednesday and allegedly told law enforcement he wanted to kill the Supreme Court justice, according to reporting from multiple sources that was confirmed by the Supreme Court on Wednesday,” Townhall wrote at the time.
“The arrest of a man with at least one weapon who proclaimed his desire to kill Justice Kavanaugh over the leaked SCOTUS opinion that showed Roe v. Wade being overturned follows violent attacks against pro-life organizations as the left’s rhetoric — and actions — against conservatives continue to escalate,” the outlet added.
The Supreme Court’s decision to send the issue of abortion back to the states was in line with the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which gives states the right to decide on things not mentioned in the Constitution.
