Chipotle Worker Attacked After Order Mix-Up Leads To Violence

A Chipotle employee was the victim of an assault after a woman became upset over missing ingredients in her chicken burrito bowl order. The incident, which occurred at a Chipotle in Washington, D.C., started when the woman’s UberEats order arrived incomplete, lacking both meat and condiments. She went to the restaurant to demand a refund, only to be told that any refund had to come from UberEats.

In a fit of frustration, the woman went behind the counter and attempted to serve herself new food. When employee Roberto Hernandez tried to stop her by grabbing one of the bowls, the woman retaliated by throwing it in his face. Hernandez chose not to escalate the situation, walking away from the confrontation.

The woman later spoke to WUSA-TV, acknowledging her actions were wrong but defending herself by saying she had the right to take new food after her original order was taken. She also claimed that “men” at the store had previously assaulted her, which added to her anger.

Chipotle has confirmed it is filing a police report regarding the incident. Hernandez, who expressed feeling traumatized, has called for extra security at the store. The woman, who is threatening to sue the company, has been widely condemned for her aggressive behavior.
