Haley To Launch Campaign Bus Tour In South Carolina

GOP presidential contender and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) will soon launch a “Beast of the Southeast” bus tour in South Carolina ahead of the state’s GOP presidential primary.

Haley, who lost the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary to former President Donald Trump, is projected to lose the forthcoming South Carolina primary to the former president by over 30 percentage points.

The former South Carolina governor recently lost the Nevada Republican presidential primary to “none of these candidates,” having received less than 35% of the vote.

On Truth Social, the former president mocked Haley for losing the Nevada primary, saying, “Watch, she’ll soon claim Victory!”

Trump is poised to win the Nevada caucuses on Feb. 8, 2024, further cementing his status as the GOP presidential frontrunner and likely nominee.

Haley has repeatedly tried to bait the former president into debating her, criticizing him for making few campaign appearances in South Carolina.

Now, the former South Carolina governor will launch a bus tour across her home state to compete against the former president for voters. Trump is scheduled to hold a campaign rally in Conway, South Carolina, on Feb. 10, 2024.

Despite Haley’s criticisms and efforts, Trump has dominated her among Republican voters in Iowa and New Hampshire, with polls showing his likely victory in the upcoming South Carolina primary.

Haley has said she will remain in the GOP presidential primary race through the 16 Super Tuesday contests on March 5, 2024.

The former South Carolina governor has scheduled over 30 stops on her bus tour. She is working hard to try and build a coalition of anti-Trump Republicans who don’t usually partake in primaries, according to The Washington Times.

“Under Governor Nikki Haley, South Carolina became an economic powerhouse, earning the nickname ‘The Beast of the Southeast,’” a spokesperson for Haley, Brittany Yanick, said in a press release. “The Beast of the Southeast bus tour is a testament to Nikki’s hard work and firm belief that every vote must be earned.”

“While Donald Trump uses his campaign as a personal legal defense slush fund, Nikki is fighting to save our country and put Americans first,” Yanick added.
