Homan: Legal Challenges Won’t Stop Trump’s Deportation Efforts

Tom Homan, who will serve as border czar under President-elect Donald Trump, dismissed the American Civil Liberties Union’s (ACLU) attempts to obstruct Trump’s immigration enforcement plans during an interview Friday.

The ACLU recently filed a lawsuit against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), seeking information on how Trump’s promise to conduct mass deportations will be carried out. Homan, however, stated that the administration remains committed to public safety.

“Our focus is on removing individuals who pose a threat to our communities,” Homan said, emphasizing the dangers posed by sanctuary city policies. He argued that such policies force ICE to conduct more dangerous operations in communities rather than in controlled environments like jails.

Homan also praised Trump’s decision to nominate South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem to head the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), describing her as an “exceptional leader” who will help implement the president-elect’s agenda.

The ACLU has outlined a multi-pronged plan to challenge Trump’s policies, including legal action and lobbying Congress to cut funding for DHS’ immigration enforcement. Democratic leaders in cities like Chicago and Denver have also pledged to resist ICE’s efforts.

Homan remains undeterred, saying, “They can make things more complicated, but they won’t stop us from enforcing immigration laws and protecting Americans.”
