Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) made a shocking revelation during a recent interview, disclosing that multiple assassination teams are currently in the U.S. seeking to kill President Donald Trump. Gaetz, speaking on Breitbart News Daily, claimed that at least five known teams are targeting Trump, with three of them reportedly connected to foreign actors.
Gaetz criticized the current security arrangements around Trump, saying, “I am starting to get the impression that we do not have enough force protection of supporting President Trump that we ought to have, given the threat environment.” He expressed concern that the Secret Service may not be providing adequate protection, given the serious threats against the former president.
The congressman said he had received this information from a senior Department of Homeland Security official. Of the five teams, three are reportedly foreign in nature, coming from Iran, Ukraine, and Pakistan, while two are domestic. Gaetz emphasized that security needs to be ramped up, particularly after two assassination attempts, including one in July that left Trump injured and a supporter dead.
As investigations continue into these assassination plots, Gaetz urged Congress to examine whether proper resources, such as sniper and tactical teams, are in place to protect Trump during his vigorous 2024 campaign.
