Former First Lady Melania Trump revealed that her son Barron was refused a bank account because of their family’s political affiliation. In her new biography, Melania, she shared that this happened shortly after President Donald Trump left office in 2021. The decision was made by a long-time bank, which terminated her account and denied Barron the ability to open a new one.
Shameful 😠
Barron Trump was DENIED a bank account because of the 'cancel mob', Melania claims in new book https://t.co/E2RqzSVvoZ via https://t.co/NpTJzIQSOa— Cee Cee (@Cee_Ceelicious) October 9, 2024
Melania said the incident is an example of how “cancel culture” has affected their family, noting that this political bias raises serious concerns about civil rights. She expressed frustration, saying it is troubling when financial services are withheld due to political views.
The former First Lady also mentioned that political discrimination has impacted her other ventures. A private equity group that was involved in one of her media projects pulled its support, citing animosity toward her husband. This, Melania said, added to the challenges she faced in pursuing her initiatives after leaving the White House.

Additionally, Melania talked about her efforts to help foster children through her “Fostering the Future” scholarship program. She revealed that a tech-education company ended its partnership with her once her name became publicly associated with the initiative. Despite the company’s decision, Melania continues to advocate for children’s education.
Barron, now 18, recently started his studies at New York University’s Stern School of Business. Despite the challenges, Melania shared on Fox News that her son is thriving in college and enjoying his time in New York City.
Melania had her bank account closed and Barron was denied the right to open one because their name is Trump. I hope she names and shames and sues the bank. https://t.co/pyw897yvqm
