Muslim Voters Split Between Kamala Harris And Jill Stein, CAIR Poll Finds

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has released its final poll showing Democratic nominee Kamala Harris and Green Party candidate Jill Stein running almost even among Muslim voters. The survey results show Stein with a narrow lead at 42%, followed by Harris with 41% support.

Additionally, the poll reveals 10% of Muslim voters backing President Donald Trump, with 5.4% opting out of voting and 0.6% supporting Libertarian nominee Chase Oliver. CAIR reports that 95% of Muslim voters intend to participate in this election, making for a highly active voting demographic.

According to Nihad Awad, CAIR’s National Executive Director, key issues, including U.S. policies on Gaza, have influenced Muslim voter preferences. “Opposition to U.S. support for the war on Gaza continues to play a major role in influencing Muslim voter preferences,” Awad said. He encouraged Muslim Americans to participate fully in the election, adding, “Do not sit on the sidelines.”

Stein, who selected Butch Ware, a Black Muslim history professor from the University of California Santa Barbara, as her running mate, has focused on issues important to Muslim voters. Ware has publicly criticized Zionism, calling it “a white supremacist movement.” The choice of Ware adds a vocal advocate for Middle Eastern issues to Stein’s campaign.

The CAIR poll, conducted from October 30-31, surveyed 1,449 verified Muslim voters with a margin of error of +/-2.5%. The results reflect a split in the Muslim community’s support as both Harris and Stein vie for their votes.
