With President Donald Trump’s lead over Vice President Kamala Harris growing, Paul Ingrassia argues that the Republican National Committee (RNC) must prioritize election integrity. In a recent report, Ingrassia highlights the possibility that tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of ineligible voters — including noncitizens — are listed on voter rolls in key battleground states like Pennsylvania, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
According to Ingrassia, even if a fraction of the 7.2 million illegal immigrants who have entered the country in the past four years appear on voter rolls, it could sway the outcome in close races. In 2020, Trump lost Wisconsin, Arizona, and Georgia by a combined total of fewer than 43,000 votes. Ingrassia argues that even a small number of ineligible voters could make a difference in states like Pennsylvania, where Gov. Josh Shapiro has refused to disclose voter roll details.
Ingrassia emphasizes that the RNC must take a proactive legal approach, challenging voter roll discrepancies and investigating potential fraud. He warns that Democratic-controlled states, especially those with contested elections, are likely to see more ineligible voters due to lax verification processes.
He also criticizes mainstream media outlets for downplaying concerns about voter roll integrity, pointing to outlets like Salon and The New York Times for what he describes as “gaslighting” the public. Ingrassia insists that voter identification and proof of citizenship are essential to ensuring a fair and transparent election.
