Raheem Kassam, Editor-in-Chief of The National Pulse, has called the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) investigation into Russian influence a “confected narrative” aimed at distracting the public from scandals involving China and corporate media. Speaking on the Charlie Kirk Show, Kassam argued that the probe is more political theater than a genuine investigation.
The DOJ’s probe focuses on Canadian influencer Laren Chen, who has been critical of President Donald Trump, along with other figures like Tim Pool and Benny Johnson, who were reportedly unaware of their involvement. Kassam suggested that the investigation is reminiscent of the 2016 election cycle, where Russia was used as a political weapon against the right.
Kassam believes that the real issue lies with China’s influence on left-wing politicians and media outlets. He referenced Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) as an example, who has been accused of accepting bribes from foreign governments, and pointed to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) efforts to infiltrate American schools through programs like Confucius Institutes.
Foreign cash flowing into corporate media is another area of concern for Kassam. He noted that major outlets like CNN, Bloomberg, and News Corp are influenced by foreign money and operate on a “pay-for-play” basis. In contrast, Kassam proudly noted that The National Pulse is funded entirely by its readers, allowing it to maintain independence.
Kassam concluded that the DOJ’s investigation is timed to coincide with the upcoming election, serving as a distraction from more pressing foreign influence issues linked to left-leaning politicians and corporate media.
