Seattle officials have imposed hefty fines on a local Instagram influencer known for disturbing residents with his modified Dodge Charger. The 20-year-old, Miles Oliver Hudson, has amassed thousands of followers on Instagram by posting videos of his car racing at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour and causing a ruckus in the early hours of the morning. The social media celebrity, dubbed the “Belltown Hellcat” on local forums, has been cited multiple times for the amplified noise from his vehicle’s modified exhaust system.
In response to community complaints, City Attorney Ann Davison issued a statement condemning Hudson’s behavior, saying, “Mr. Hudson has cultivated online infamy by flagrantly breaking Seattle’s laws and waking his neighbors with excessive noise.” She further emphasized the need for accountability, stating, “It’s time for him to face the consequences of his actions.” Davison has requested the court to find Hudson in default and impose all applicable penalties.
Hudson’s activities have been a source of frustration for many residents. Chris Allen, a Belltown resident, described the disturbances to KING-TV, saying, “I’m on the 17th floor here. I would hear my windows rattle. It sounded like very loud backfiring.” Despite his mother’s claim that he no longer had access to the car, Hudson continued his disruptive activities, resulting in a daily fine of $1,300 unless he complies. To date, he reportedly owes $83,200 and has pleaded not guilty, with a court appearance scheduled for June 12.
