New allegations have emerged against Vice President Kamala Harris, with former staffers claiming that she fostered a culture of fear and intimidation during her time as California’s Attorney General. These claims paint a picture of a hostile work environment marked by verbal abuse and strict protocols.
A former staffer disclosed that Harris mandated employees to stand and greet her with “Good morning, general” every morning. Only senior staff were allowed to make eye contact with her, leaving others in a state of constant anxiety.
These allegations were detailed in a 2019 op-ed for The Union by Democrat professor Terry McAteer, who recounted his son Gregory’s experiences as an intern for Harris. McAteer wrote the piece to expose “a side of Kamala Harris which the general public does not know.”
“Gregory was also given instruction to never address Harris nor look her in the eye,” McAteer wrote. “Staff members lived in complete fear during her tenure as attorney general from 2011 to 2017.”
Harris has faced repeated accusations of being a “bully” throughout her career. A report from OpenTheBooks.com recently highlighted a 95.1 percent staff turnover rate in her office as Vice President. Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) echoed these concerns in an interview with Fox News, stating, “Nobody lasts very long while working for Kamala Harris.”
These revelations raise significant questions about Harris’s management style and her treatment of employees, potentially impacting her political future.
