Donald Trump has called on Vice President Kamala Harris to clarify President Joe Biden’s current ability to lead the nation, accusing her of hiding the truth about his mental state. Trump demanded Harris address whether Biden is still capable of fulfilling his presidential duties.
“Does Lyin’ Kamala Harris think Joe Biden is fit to run the USA for the next six months? She must answer the question. Now it appears Joe is delegating his Presidential Authority to unelected Washington Bureaucrats! He doesn’t even trust his Vice President.
WHO IS RUNNING THE COUNTRY?” Trump shared on Truth Social.
Fox News noted Harris has not commented on Biden’s capacity to serve, with speculation about his health growing due to his absence from public appearances. Aside from a call to Harris and his campaign team, Biden has remained out of sight.
Reporters have repeatedly tried to contact Harris for her opinion on Biden’s ability to serve as president. She has the authority to invoke the 25th Amendment if she determines Biden is no longer capable of fulfilling his role.
Biden announced his decision to withdraw from the presidential race on Sunday through X, publishing a letter explaining his choice. Despite this, he has been largely absent from the public eye, apart from a phone call where he assured Harris and the campaign team, stating, “The name has changed at the top of the ticket, but the mission hasn’t changed at all. And by the way, I’m not going anywhere.”
In the call, Biden expressed confidence in his decision to step down and encouraged the campaign to support Harris as the new presidential candidate. Late Monday, Harris secured enough delegates to become the presumptive nominee ahead of the Democratic National Convention, according to an AP survey.
Since his Covid-19 diagnosis last week, Biden has avoided public appearances. On Monday, White House doctor Kevin O’Connor released a statement confirming Biden’s improving health, noting, “President Biden completed his tenth dose of PAXLOVID this morning. His symptoms have almost resolved completely. His pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and temperature remain absolutely normal. His oxygen saturation continues to be excellent on room air. His lungs remain clear.”
Amid persistent concerns about Biden’s health, Harris is under growing pressure to address these issues and clarify who is currently in control of the nation’s leadership.
