Carlson pointed to President Joe Biden’s recent authorization of U.S.-supplied missiles used by Ukraine to strike Russian territory. “We are, unbeknownst to most Americans, in a hot war with Russia,” Carlson said. He emphasized that this undeclared conflict has already resulted in Russian casualties.
He also criticized U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken for cutting off diplomatic communication with Moscow. “Tony Blinken cut off all contact between the U.S. and Russian governments. There is no back channel,” Carlson stated, adding that the lack of dialogue increases the chances of catastrophic escalation.
Carlson described how his efforts to provide a balanced perspective on the conflict have been blocked. He alleged that U.S. officials prevented his team from interviewing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, calling it a deliberate effort to control the narrative.
The risks of nuclear war have grown following Biden’s missile decision, with Russian President Vladimir Putin warning of potential retaliation. Despite these concerns, Carlson noted that U.S. intelligence officials have downplayed the likelihood of escalation.
