Bread Recall Details

Upper Crust Bakery—also known as Crest Hill Bakery—has voluntarily recalled multiple varieties of its bread after small glass fragments were discovered embedded in the top of seeded loaves. According to the FDA, the recall, which began on April 12 and was upgraded to Class II on April 25, involves Ancient Grains Hoagie Rolls, Multigrain Sourdough, and Whole Grain Multigrain.

The contamination has been traced to sunflower seeds provided by one of the bakery’s ingredient suppliers. The Class II designation means the tainted products could cause “temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.”
