Walz Says He Can Beat Up Trump Voters, WWE’s Kane Volunteers To Test His Claim

A podcast appearance meant to showcase Democrat unity turned into a viral spectacle after Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz claimed he could physically defeat most of President Donald Trump’s supporters. The comments were made while speaking with California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who laughed as Walz leaned into the boast.

“I think I can kick most of their a**,” Walz said during the episode. He followed it up by saying that conservatives fear him because he’s mechanically skilled and authentic — unlike, he implied, many politicians.

WWE Hall of Famer Kane responded by offering to put Walz’s claim to the test. Now serving as mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, Kane proposed a charity wrestling match with a $10,000 donation to kick things off. He posted an image of Walz in a rainbow singlet with the hashtags #TennesseeWalz and #LetsDance.

President Trump was also asked about Walz’s remarks during a Q&A in the White House. “He’s a loser,” Trump replied. “He’s not just embarrassing — he actually hurt Kamala Harris’s campaign. That ticket was a disaster.”

Walz’s political record hasn’t helped him with conservatives. His state openly rejected Trump’s executive order aimed at removing biological males from female sports divisions. Minnesota’s high school league said it would continue to operate under state law, not federal mandates.

That defiance drew criticism from former NFL player Jack Brewer, who blasted Walz for failing male athletes and for abandoning fairness in girls’ sports. Brewer has backed state legislation aimed at preserving biological boundaries in women’s competition.

Although Walz recently told The New Yorker he’s considering a 2028 run for president, a March poll placed his support at just 5% among likely Democrat voters.
